ASUS Transformer Pad TF103C-A1 Description:

Top Customer Review:
I've had mine for a little over a year now. I replaced my former transformer which was about 2 years old because I dropped it and banged it up beyond working. So at the approximately 14 month mark, this is still going strong. It is not the highest performance Android tablet out there, as you are probably aware. But for the money, I would say it is hard to beat. Not only that, but this package deal here comes with the keyboard and that is just awesome. And that brings me to my only complaint. The keyboard....while a great feature to have, sometimes for some reason, the tablet will somehow "lose connection" to the keyboard. It will be docked properly, but still not work. It will usually fix itself in a few minutes. But if I really want to use the keyboard, I go on and restart the system and it works once it has rebooted. But besides that little annoyance, it is just great. I use it primarily for web-browsing and google-play types of games.

The TF103 lives up to the Transformer Pad name by easily transitioning from a tablet to laptop-like device. As a standalone slate, its design is rather humdrum, with a soft and smooth matte finish on the back that provides little grip support. Manufacturers have been hopping on the thin-bezel bandwagon, but Asus ignores this trend and slaps on an unfashionably thick black frame around the Transformer Pad TF103 10.1-inch screen.

If you are familiar with the Android OS, you will easily find your way around the Zen UI. If you are a little wet behind the ears, Asus offers a ton of tutorials to guide you through the getting to know you process. I found the tutorial for the robust SuperNote app the most refreshingly useful it could give Samsung Note line a run for its money if the Transformer came with a stylus instead of a keyboard.

The Asus apps help fine-tune your tablet to your needs and offer a few cool perks. The Splendid app allows you to calibrate the colors of the screen easily, the Power Saver app is a robust battery-saving feature, and the AudioWizard tool is essential for optimizing audio quality when listening to music or watching a movie.

Still, the Asus Transformer Pad TF103 remains a basic tablet-hybrid. Even with its unfashionable look, its many features, slick user interface, and cheap price tag make it an attractively affordable option for students, writers, and anyone who needs a keyboard one the go.

Purchased mine used. The one I received appeared to be new with no scratches or signs of wear and was still sealed in factory plastic with documentation and charger, the only thing I didn't receive was the original box which is no big deal. . Picture and sound quality are fantastic for this price range and the bundled keyboard dock adds a full sized USB 2.0 port physical keyboard and touch pad giving it the feel of a mini laptop and also doubles as a screen stand and screen protector when transporting it or when it's not in use. Was looking for a replacement for my slowly dying iPad 2nd Gen and was also considering just getting another iPad 3rd or 4th Gen but decided on the Transformer Pad TF103C-A1 bundle for the keyboard and upgradable memory. Also most of the reviews I've read or watched compared the TF103C to the iPad Air and they basically rated the same as far as performance and features. Apple has better front and rear camera but that wasn't a selling point for me.
ADVANTAGES:
Like the larger size and the real keyboard
DISADVANTAGES:
Audio is the worst aspect

This is actually the second of the Asus Transformer tablets I've bought. The first is in use by my ex, so I bought one for myself based on my previous experience. I love the detachable keyboard that gives this functional and easy to use tablet a more laptop-like feel. The micro SD slot is great for boosting storage, and I also like having the USB port. Quite simply, this is a great Android tablet. The graphics and video quality are wonderful, and everything is fast and responsive. It's more expensive than some other tablets, but worth the price by far.
ADVANTAGES:
Great value
DISADVANTAGES:
Low-resolution display

This is my first Android tablet and this Asus does not dissapoint. As of February 2015, this unit is priced for $250 brand new with keyboard. I bought the used one from Amazon Warehouse deal for $197. I don't see anything current other than the box a bit mashed. It was also delivered with Amazon Prime. This particular model only comes in black or write. Unfortunately the white one is hard to find and more expensive too. Keyboard is really responsive as well as the touch screen. In fact I typed this review from the touchscreen using built in ASUS keyboard. I'm a big fan of Swype and luckily the built in keyboard let's you to use gesture typing. It comes with all the normal apps from Asus such as alarm, clock, web storage; and other apps such as Zinio, eMusic, etc. The tablet itself installed with KitKat 4.02 with no possible way to get an upgrade from Asus to Lollipop. If you feel adventurou, you can install customize ROM when they are available for this model.
ADVANTAGES:
t's a well-designed android tablet that can serve as a basic laptop too
DISADVANTAGES:
Not much powe

Fairly good product. I use it almost exclusively at school for doing homework and just browsing the internet in between my classes. The battery life is pretty good, but when the brightness is all the way up it dies pretty quickly. I've also noticed that it dies quicker than I would like when it's closed in stand-by mode, but I'm usually by an outlet while using it so it doesn't bother my too much. The tablet runs somewhat slow. It's not terribly slow, but it does take a few seconds to open an app, it's definitely not instantaneous. But, it is only a $300 tablet, so I'm not expecting something with the speed of an iPad. The keyboard is nice, but unless I'm doing a lot of typing I personally prefer having the keyboard off. Overall this is a pretty great tablet for the price and I would recommend it.
ADVANTAGES:
Great screen.
DISADVANTAGES:
Sometimes keyboard working slow

This product is awsome!!! I am a die hard iPad user and even Apple Certified, but with my iPad 2 about to hit End of Life I decided to look at other (less expensive options). This tablet will not disappoint, the screen is beautiful and I have been able to download and use everything on Google Play that I was using on the iPad!. The Keyboard rocks. Works just as good as my macbook pro, but the right shift takes a little getting used to since its so small. The touch pad is also awsome, but I think the clicking needs work since it sometimes seems to do a rite click instead of a left. Not even sure why right click is an option since it really does nothing but other than that, no complaints. Track pad also supports multi touch so you can swipe between screens with two fingers and such which is very nice.
ADVANTAGES:
Nice picture and sound
DISADVANTAGES:
It needs a HDMI port.

Bought this for a relative who knows nothing about computers, and certainly not tablets. So far, so good! I've tried it out and seems pretty sturdy and reliable. The keyboard works well, no problems, but since he's not an experienced user there's no assessment if it's better/worse than another. My main reason for purchasing was the relatively low-cost, good features, integrated keyboard.
ADVANTAGES:
The detachable keyboard is perfect
DISADVANTAGES:
No microphone

Absolutely wonderful. Beautiful vibrant colors... Very customizable (one feature that I have always loved about android) and also very easy to navigate. The battery life is also wonderful especially while running the app "battery doctor". This is perfect for work and play. It does not come with Microsoft office.. But there are many alternative office applications that transfer pretty well. For example: I use the WPS office app. It comes with word, powerpoint, and spreadsheet. Good buy!
ADVANTAGES:
Worked great after a few updates
DISADVANTAGES:
This product has lost 10 prosent of battery life for the last 5 days but it is not critical
